Let’s get stuck into the AFL GameDay Squad Round 11Review and see who dominated, who disappointed, and who was the ultimate point-of-difference hero!

Top 3 Players of AFL GameDay Squad Round 11

These three players delivered massive scores and rewarded coaches who backed them in:

1. Nic Martin 199 – Some people were calling it cream time at the G in the last quarter when Martin was going nuts to finish off his amazing game. 2 goals, 35 disposals 26 of them being kicks 9 marks and 8 tackles.

2. Zach Merrett 170 – Merrett had a slow start but when it was time to pig it up late, he went hard. 37 disposals with 8 marks and 7 tackles.

3. NWM 165 – What injury cloud? I feel bad for any coaches who faded after the injury scare from last week. 36 disposals 3 marks 4 tackles and a goal.

3 Biggest Disappointments of the Round

Not every player lived up to expectations. These three underwhelmed fantasy coaches and left many scrambling for points:

1. Rowan Marshall 88 – Not the worst score but after last week and if you decided to play him over Max Gawn you would have spewing. 11 disposals 7 tackles and 28 hit outs.

2. Ryan Maric 68 – Bit of a POD for most and the first time many would have selected Maric in their teams as he is a somewhat rare card. Just never got going. 20 disposals and 2 marks.

3. George Hewett 52 – I was waiting for his bubble to burst, and it well and truly has. 17 disposals and 2 marks

3 PODs That Won Round 11

GameDay Squad is all about finding the right PODs at the right time. These three under-the-radar picks delivered huge scores and gave savvy coaches a massive edge:

1. Toby Greene 161 – Toby is a jet. First time getting more mid time and he goes bang. 28 disposals 9 marks and kicked 3 goals. If this role continues, he will be a must play.

2. Christian Salem 161 – Sydney let defenders take marks and Salem took full advantage. He took 11 marks and had 31 disposals and 1 goal.

3. Kossy Pickett 152 – Pickett is no longer a POD he is a must play guy. 24 disposals kicking 5 goals and having plenty of CBA’s

Starter – 2721 points and ranked 95th

Classic – 3040 points and ranked 24th

Challenger – 3825 points and ranked 2nd

Champion – 4050 points and ranked 4th

Summary:

Another good week but missed 1k in rewards buy about 50 points total across challenger and open. Bolton and Maric cost me but backing in Greene and Martin also help cover theirscores. Looking forward to the byes and having to play some different players.

Beast Mode

Starter – 2822 points and ranked 33rd

Classic – 3008 points and ranked 39th

Challenger – 3887 points and ranked 1st

Champion – 3697 points and ranked 29th

Summary:

Had a few misses in the other competitions but managed to bring it all together for challenger. Was concerned after so many forwards went well early in the round which I didn’t have but Pickett and Thrilthorpe were amazing Sunday. A last-minute swap to Gawn instead of Marshall Sunday morning was the winning move luckily! On to next week.
