Club History
Founded in 2022 following an illustrious AFL draft career (that had well and truly started to fizzle) and one top-100 Classic Fantasy season, The Seamen traded aggressively on the market, targeting silver cards that offered the best value in the Classic competition.
The club first tasted success with a victory in Round 5 of 2023. This hooked the manager, and the wheels were set in motion.
End-of-season success was boosted by the fortuitous selection of NWM as the 16th overall pick in the 2023 Seasonal Draft. This laid the foundation for a successful 2024, which saw the club finish 1st overall and the rather North melbounreesc and dubious decision to select Colby McKercher as the 11th Overall pick.
The club recorded several top-3 finishes throughout the season but failed on multiple occasions to convert those into round-winning success, managing only a couple of wins overall.
The introduction of multi-comps saw management begin progressive planning for the 2025 season, having already tasted some early Champion League success.
The 2024 off-season was a flurry of activity on the transfer market for The Goal Practitioners, after discussions with the board resulted in a green light for strategic upgrades. The upcoming season saw the club change names on Discord (not yet reflected in-game) and marked the club’s first serious attempt at fielding a competitive Champion team.
Following board approval, the club also committed to fielding a top-tier Challenger team if possible, while continuing to fill out other competitions.
2025 provided to be a resounding success. Following the decision to move to the top league the club set about with an agressive player acquisition period during the offseason. The club saw immediate dividends and the board was pleased as the club recorded top 3 seasonal finishes across all four competitions entered as well as 30 weekly podium finishes across the competitions.
