Let’s get stuck into the AFL GameDay Squad Round 8 Review and see who dominated, who disappointed, and who was the ultimate point-of-difference hero!
Top 3 Players of AFL GameDay Squad Round 8

These three players delivered massive scores and rewarded coaches who backed them in:
1. Max Gawn 177 – Massive game form Max and really locking himself in as a must play every week. 35 disposals 7 marks and a massive 47 hit outs and the cherry on top 1 goal.
2. Jack Macrae 164 – Macrae is back inform and finding plenty of the football collecting 38 disposals, 19 kicks and 8 tackles
3. Harry Sheezel 157 – Sheezel back to half back is amazing collecting 32 disposals having 21 kicks and taking 9 marks.
3 Biggest Disappointments of the Round

Not every player lived up to expectations. These three underwhelmed fantasy coaches and left many scrambling for points:
1. Dylan Moore 47 – From bad to worse for Moore this season, 11 disposals 5 marks and subbed is not what you want from a POD fwd pick.
2. Tom Liberatore 60 – with Bont and Treloar coming in the last couple weeks for the bulldogs most would have thought the scoring of Kennedy and Richards would drop but it looks like it might be Libba. 19 disposals with 2 marks and 2 tackles.
3. Toby Greene 58 – Another poor game for Toby 13 disposals and only taking 2 marks.
3 PODs That Won Round 8
GameDay Squad is all about finding the right PODs at the right time. These three under-the-radar picks delivered huge scores and gave savvy coaches a massive edge:

1. Tim English 170 – Is English back? Been pumping out some good scores lately and would still be a pod play, and he rewarded coaches who backed him in. 27 disposals 6 marks 30 hit outs and 3 goals and still the 2nd best ruck for the week is nuts.
2. Massimo D’Ambrosio 155 – It would have been a super brave decision to play Massimo this week but it was a good match up for the hawks this week and a lot of smart coaches so who knows. 30 disposals, 23 of them being kicks to go with 9 marks and 2 goals.
3. Josh Battle 142 – Richmond allows plenty of marks for options defenders, the only hard part is working out who will be the main beneficiary. This week it was Battle, 33 disposals 20 of them being kicks and taking 12 marks is a perfect game for a very POD pick.
BOBS Coaches Round 8 Results
How did Blokes on the Ball’s squads perform in Round 8? Here’s where we finished across all divisions:
The Goal Practitioner
· Starter – 8th scoring 2715 points
· Classic – 19th scoring 2884 points
· Challenger – 15th scoring 3453 points
· Champion – 3rd scoring 3791
Summary:
Fairly decent week overall, would have been made better if I’d picked Kennedy to numb the pain of watching the doggies destroy my boys. Highlight of the weekend however was the last decision to bring in Sicily as a point of difference in champion. No Amon and a soft match up meant he scored well and was a big help to a 3rd place finish.
Cash Money
· Starter – 80th scoring 2571 points
· Classic – 3rd scoring 2950 points
· Challenger – 8th scoring 3517 points
· Champion – 21st scoring 3556 Points
Summary:
Starting to get more consistent scoring in the competitions that I’m focusing on. Highlight of the round in classic was playing English and Gawn for there massive scores and the lowlight is playing Pickett over Kennedy in all competitions. Caleb Daniel is starting to make himself benched if he doesn’t pick up his form soon but Sheezel moving to half back may be affecting his scoring.
Beast Mode
· Starter – 47th scoring 2641 points
· Classic – 27th scoring 2873 points
· Challenger – 7th scoring 3517 points
· Champion – 48th scoring 3076 points
Summary:
Not my best week after some consistent results lately. After missing Salem last week, I decided to jump on this round in all teams which cost me a lot of points. Pickett was also a letdown and every time I pick Brayshaw, he is a letdown. On to next week.
