AFL GameDay Squad Round 7 Review – Key Takeaways
The AFL GameDay Squad Round 7 Review is here, join us as we break down the top fantasy stars, the biggest disappointments, and the PODs that turned the round on its head.
We’ll also look at how the Blokes on the Ball coaches performed across all divisions, to see who was this weeks dunce.
Let’s get stuck into the AFL GameDay Squad Round 7 Review and see who dominated, who disappointed, and who was the ultimate point-of-difference hero!
Top 3 Players of AFL GameDay Squad Round 7

These three players delivered massive scores and rewarded coaches who backed them in:
1. Naisah Wanganeen-Milera 158 – NWM is doing everything taking kickouts playing more midfield minutes and kicking all the time. 32 disposals including 26 kicks. If he isn’t locked in your team he must be now.
2. Bailey Smith 155 – Another big game for Smith collecting 29 disposals kicking a goal and having 9 tackles.
3. Dayne Zorko – Back to his best after a few quiet games with a big 34 disposals with 26 being kicks and collecting 9 marks.

3 Biggest Disappointments of the Round

Not every player lived up to expectations. These three underwhelmed fantasy coaches and left many scrambling for points:
1. Jy Simpkin 69 – Simpkin had been in amazing form with an awesome role, but the port Adelaide match up vs mids is something you need to think about. He struggled early and limped his way to 19 disposals.
2. Karl Amon 76 – I personally faded a few more common picks for a bit of Amon vs west coast thinking it was going to be points galore, but he let me down only collecting 18 disposals. In his defence he spent the entire final quarter on the bench after getting a head knock and hawthorn deciding to not risk him.
3. Max Holmes 76 – Another underwhelming score by another guy I had. 20 disposals and having very little impact on the game, he needs to go back to half back or hit some form for me to play him again.
3 PODs That Won Round 7
GameDay Squad is all about finding the right PODs at the right time. These three under-the-radar picks delivered huge scores and gave savvy coaches a massive edge:

1. Christian Salem 167 – might be his last time in the POD section as Salem has been a super consistent scorer this year with a massive ceiling. 34 disposals with 27 kicks and 13 marks to reward coaches who played him.
2. Jake Bowey 147 – Move aside the 2 Stkilda defenders we have 2 more teammates who are kicking to each other. Jake Bowey like Salem has been super consistent and forcing people to play him. 32 disposals with 20 kicks and 9 marks.
3. Zac Bailey 141 – I didn’t think anyone would have played Zac on the weekend but have seen proof that one lucky coach played his diamond this week in challenger. He had 24 disposals kicked 3 goals and had 5 marks and tackles.

Cash Money
· Starter – 17th and scored 2674 points
· Classic – 10th and scored 2890 points
· Challenger – 1st and scored 3558 points
· Champion – 19th and scored 3632 points
Summary:
Last week I spoke about putting people on my never again list, well that has a new member, Max Holmes. Karl Amon is luck he got concussed as I would have him in the same boat and Noah Anderson listed late to some what save his score. Very happy with my challenger win but had those 3 in all my teams and could have been even better if they just scored there averages. Anyway, onto next week!!
Beast Mode
· Starter – 37th
· Classic – 16th and scored 2870 points
· Challenger – 2nd and scored 3556 points
· Champion – 26th
Summary:
Another good week for me overall but always disappointing when you come 2nd by such a small margin. Plenty of good pick this week in noble, Kennedy and Hewett as a few pods that helped. Will look to keep the good form going onto next week!
